Belle-Baie

In its fourth season, Belle-Baie finds itself considerably impacted by the decline of the usually stable fishing industry. As the community’s way of life, fishing is very important to every single family in Belle-Baie and the threat of its loss creates a lot of uncertainty and anxiety among the people there. Everyone must find a way to live through the crisis that has brought on plenty of disagreements and heartbreak. The citizens of Belle-Baie usually rally together to fight the great environmental and political battles but now they find that cliques have formed and new relationships have developed while others are forever changed. Protagonist MARGOT PAULIN (Pascale Bussières) does some serious soul searching after her business, Le Poisson Doré, burns to the ground and her relationship with MAX MALLET (Jean-Francois Pichette) falls apart. Now at a crossroads she must choose between rebuilding from the ground up and or starting anew. Margot embodies the will and confidence of a community that refuses to give up by redoubling its efforts to stay the course and make the most of the challenges it faces.
