With equal measures of humour, angst and heart, the students of Degrassi grapple with a series of “firsts” as they begin their journey into adulthood. Pushing their own limits and testing the bonds of family and friends, the students find their own ways to deal with a far-reaching range of issues: from homophobia, abuse, and violence to burgeoning sexuality, dating and heartbreak.
In doing so, Degrassi provides an opportunity for Canadians to see themselves on television from a cultural point of view. With the maple leaf proudly flying at the front steps of the school and students arriving on the TTC, Degrassi is produced by, for, and about Canadians.
And at muchmusic/degrassi.com, users can find out everything they ever wanted to know about Degrassi. Degrassi’s online community brings viewer together and engages them like no other and manifests the series’ core message: you are not alone.
