The National Parks Project is an arts adventure series that follows acclaimed Canadian musicians and filmmakers as they attempt to capture the majesty of our national parks in music and film. In each episode, one director and three musicians who have never worked together before travel to a national park to spend five days exploring the landscape. As they take in the awe-inspiring sights, learn about the park’s fascinating history and test their physical limits, they also have to navigate the tricky task of spontaneous creative collaboration in an unforgiving environment. Whether it’s raging rapids on a legendary northern river, polar bears in hot pursuit across the tundra or a director hell bent on filming at the crack of dawn in the cold rains of Newfoundland, there are hazards around every corner. But in the bold spirit of the Group of Seven, the artists rise to the challenge, coming together to craft stunning contemporary reflections of Canada’s timeless beauty.
The power of nature. The magic of art. This is the National Parks Project.
