Scaredy Squirrel

Meet Scaredy Squirrel, a creative, offbeat squirrel who’s learning to be comfortable in his own fur. Yes he’s a bit quirky and a tad too obsessed with safety and cleanliness, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have fun in his own unique way. This is one confident squirrel!

Scaredy lives in Balsa City, a bustling forest metropolis with towering tree skyscrapers and speeding log-flume trains, and works at the local Stash N’ Hoard grocery store as a stacker.  He’s always getting into adventures – okay mostly misadventures – with his best friend Dave, a skunk whose pungent smell and free spirit test Scaredy’s limits.

Scaredy Squirrel is based on a series of bestselling books written by Melanie Watt and published by Kids Can Press. The show’s creative team faced a big challenge turning a book with one character and no dialogue into an ongoing television series for 6-11 year olds. The result is a fun and funny cartoon that has become the top performing Canadian show on national children’s network YTV, and has gone on to be broadcast to audiences worldwide.
