Star Academie

The goal of this program is to find, select and train new talent.

A huge casting call made throughout Quebec attracted over 5000 candidates, 50 of which were asked to take part in Star Académie auditions (10 “episodes” broadcast live on the TVA network every Thursday evening from September 29 to December 1st, 2011). Judges Stéphane Laporte, Patrick Huard and Gregory Charles – with the help of the audience –selected 20 competitors to perform in the first variety show broadcast live on January 22, 2012.

The 14 most talented young artists – who all dream of becoming professional singers – were then chosen to attend Star Académie.

Star Académie is a show about a performing arts school under the supervision of “principal” René Angélil. Candidates must live at the Académie where they’re trained to become professional performers. The 2012 edition of the show includes the following coaches:
- Patrick Huard – acting
- Michel Rivard – artistic creation
- Gregory Charles – voice
- Ginette Reno – master classes

Throughout their stay at the Académie – which can last up to 9 weeks – competitors learn to sing, dance, act, stay focused and make sacrifices…all of which they must master to become true stars!
